Recently, I’ve had a few messages me asking how the blog got its name.
I thought it would be a good idea to write a blog post of the thought process and it’ll hopefully cut down questions.
I already had the blog name formed when the idea of writing a blog all about endometriosis popped into my head.
The blog name was a culmination of multiple news articles I’d read which both fascinated and concerned me greatly.
We live in the twenty first century and yet any conversation about the female reproductive system is kind of taboo. It’s 2019 and there’s a very 1950s attitude towards periods and gynaecological issues.
The title of the blog is meant to bring to mind a play on words of the title of a 1950s book. A book aimed at women guiding them on how to be the perfect, proper, little housewife.

Obviously this blog does go against the grain by discussing such a taboo topic as periods and gynaecological conditions. It is still a guide of sorts for women with endometriosis and their family/friends.
As I explained on a previous post when I was first diagnosed, I only had Dr Google to question. The information I found was very clinical. This blog is meant to provide information in a less clinical way.
I also set the blog up as a safe place for other women to share their endometriosis story.
I hope you’ve found this post interesting. Please don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss out on any future blog posts. I won’t bombard you with emails.
Take care,
Lis x
